Hi everybody,
I'm wondering if by chance anyone can help me find and/or confirm some information on my great-great-grandfather, Charles Nye Gifford Sr. He lived in Baileyville and possibly Bucksport, Maine and married Ada F. Hartford in 1910, and my great-grandfather, Charles Nye Gifford Jr., was born in 1911, but thus far I haven't been able to find any solid information on who Charles Sr.'s parents were.
I've found information on a Charles Gifford born in 1838 in South Braintree, Massachusetts, who had a son named Charles Nye Gifford in 1888 with his second wife, Alice F. Williams. I highly suspect this may be my great-great grandfather since the dates make sense (Ada Hartford was born in 1888 as well) and I vaguely remember my father mentioning something when I was younger about having ancestors from Braintree, but I can't find anything on whether or not he ever moved to Maine, or when. I know this is probably a long shot, but if anyone can help me out with this I would greatly appreciate it!
