Dear Brenda,
I don't think this is the same Carl. Mine is named Carl Gustav Friedrich Giese born 31 Jul 1839 in Penkow, Mecklenburg, Schwerin, Germany. I do not know anything about his wife and children or if he even had any. Anyway, the names are so different that I am pretty sure they are not the same person. Thanks for responding to my posting. Good luck in your research.
