Looking for a GIESE connection.
Karl GIESE (b.1847) in Prussia, married to Wilheminie SIEFKE (b.?) emigrated in 1870 to northern NY, around Buffalo or Lockport.They had three children in NY before Wilheminie died: 1)Lena b.1874, 2)Emma b.1875, and 3)Charles b.1876. Karl married Augusta GELBROECHT(GULBRECHT)about 1877. She came to the US in 1873. They had one child born in NY in 1878, Marie/Mari. They then moved to MN, where they had 7 more children: 1)Frank or Franck b.1880, 2)Louise b.1882,3)Otto b.1883,4)Augusta b.1885,5)William b.1886,6)Ida b.1888 and 7)unknown child who died in infancy.
On the Fed Census of Swift Cty, MN 1880 Karl is listed as "Charly Gise". Listed also with his family is a Nancy Gise, 26, also from Prussia. Perhaps a sister? On same census 3 sections away is a Ferdinand Giese, 35, from Prussia.
Charles Giese, b1876, stayed in Swift Cty, MN and married Ottillie Emilie Pust, b1874, and they had 10 children:
