I've just begun to research my gg-grandmother Maria Giese. I know nothing about her parents or where she married
Calvin Smith. She and Calvin had three daughters, my g-grandmother Alice Mae Smith Mayhugh, Hazel Smith Blue, and a child named Carrie who died very young. Mary Giese Smith died in 1954 and is buried next to Calvin in Union Chapel Cemetery in Indpls, In. We called her Grandma Mary but her name was actually Maria. I have pictures of five generation from Maria to myself taken together at my baptism. Some of the female names in my family were Georgia my grandmother and Dorothea her first cousin. I hope someone can shed some light
