Giefers in Kansas

Well, everyone seems pretty connected on this site, so if anyone can help me I would appreciate it very much.

I am trying to extend my family history along the Giefer line, which I am connected to through the Eck family.

My gg-grandparents were John Eck (b. 20 Feb 1862, New Trier, Dakota Co., Minn.; d. 2 Feb 1928, Andale, Reno Co., Kan.) and Josephine Giefer (b. 6 Apr 1866; d. 6 May 1929, Andale, Reno Co., Kan.).

Josephine's parents were Joseph Giefer and Anna Marie Hommertzheim (b. 31 Mar 1841; d. 19 Apr 1921). According to my information, Joseph Giefer died in Minn. shortly after their arrival in the US, but that is about all the information I have.

If you can help me out, my e-mail address is: jalbers@raven.benedictine.edu

Br. James Albers, OSB

P.S. Peggy Knoblauch Ballard, you probably know my dad's family as they are also from St. Rose Parish in Mount Vernon. Virginia Albers is my grandmother. Just a little side information, I am also originally from St. Joe-Ost.
