James Gidley, born Greenville SC 1828-30, married Elizabeth Shell 25 Dec 1853, was the brother of Thomas Walker Gidley, my husband's great-grandfather. They were the sons of James Gidley (born London 1796, came to America Charleston SC 1815) and Eliza Jane Coleman (d/o Jane Fincher and Noah Coleman.)
