I suspect that my ggg-grandfather Charles Gerard Gidley (1828-1892) who was born in Baden, Germany must have been the son of a Gidley from Great Britain who had moved there. Would welcome any thought or ideas on how to tie my German Gidleys back to the main Gidley lines in England.
He emigrated to Bonne Terre, Missouri and was the patriarch of the Missouri Gidleys of the area.
