There were Gidleys in Texas, and there were Charles Gidleys, but I can't find a Charles Gidley who has a Texas connection in my Gidley One Name Study.
3 suggestions:
1) Charles Ray Gidley of the US Marine Corps born 1926, killed 1945 and buried at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. However, I don't know which state he was from.
2) Charles Gidley born 1927, died September 1960 in Alabama.
3) There are two eminent Gidleys from Texas who appear in Who's Who in America 2004 (and other editions): brothers John Lynn Gidley and William Jeremiah Gidley. Both attended the University of Texas. Could you contact them to find out if they have any connection to Charles Gidley?
