Fellowship and a little work is planned for Concord Cemetery in Red River Co. Tx. 8 miles N.E. of Clarksville, Tx. Cemetery is in good shape, this will be mostly a fellowship and a reunion for anyone interested. The oldest marker is 1847 of Joseph R. Giddens, age 2 yr 5 months. the son of Richard Franklin Giddens an Jane Walker Giddens. They are also buried there and the next 2 generations in my family line. Wiley William Giddens and William Jefferson Giddens with their wifes. There are many other Giddens graves their along with others from the area. The lunch will be the Madras Community Center about 1 mile before you come to the cemetery. To reach the Madras community center you exit US 82 on the east side of Clarksville onto FM 1159 (going north). Go about 2 miles then turn right onto FM 1700 and go about 2 to 3 miles to the community center. Concord cemetery is about 2 more miles straight ahead on a curving white rockrock road. Bill Woods live about a half mile before you get to the cemetery. He is maintaining the cemetery and trying to raise interst in the cemetery. He is a descendent of the Giddens family. His is work to get a state historical marker for Concord Cemetery. I know most of you are a long way off, but I feel I should post this notice for the information. Jim Giddens Paris, Tx p.s.
