Charles Giddens,Seaman, married Helen Tait, daughter of William Tait, Seaman, at South Leith Parish Church, Midlothian, Scotland in 1853. (Leith is the port of Edinburgh). They had two children there, Annie Darlington Gittens in 1854 and William Tait Gittens in 1857 - then disappeared. None of them found on any censuses in Scotland or England, so I think they must have emigrated - somewhere.
Helen was a younger sister my great-grandfather who emigrated to New Zealand in 1861, but she doesn't seem to have gone there. Any sightings?
