Jeannine, This is not the same George Wright Giddens. My Giddens line begins in Wilkes Co NC with the marriage of Reuben and Nancy Strutton (Stratton) in 1797. Reuben and Nancy then moved to Floyd County KY (later Pike Co.) then to Vermilion, Illinois. Reuben's son, Richard F. Giddens moved to Red River Co., TX in 1833. He was my great great grandfather. His son, James Richard Giddens, was the father of George Wright Giddens and 5 others. Joseph died of an illness in 1881 and the others, and their Mother, moved to Oklahoma, some settled in Pottawatomie County and some in Stephens County. All this information is well documented. I have not been able to connect Reuben to any of the other NC Giddens families, but would not be surprised that there is a connection.
