I am trying to link my family to your Mary Giddens. Would you happen to know if Mary b.abt. 1835 married John W. Collins? I find them listed in the 1870 Census of Lowndes Co. in Cat Creek. Then in 1880 Mary is listed as a widow.
She has 6 children with her
Mary widowed age 45
Eliza Frances age 24
Josephine age 22
Martha Ann age 20
Pheebee age 18
John Thomas age 14
William J. age 11
I believe that Mary's daughter Martha Ann married My Great Grandfather Elbert J. Thomas one of their many children was Verdie Lee Thomas. Verdie Married John C. Young. John and Verdies Daughter was Helen Young , My grandmother.
Also, Mary's son William J. married Mollie Bullard, among their many children was Thomas Hardy Collins.
Thomas Hardy Collins married Helen Young. they had 3 children one of which is my mother.
Do you have any documents that could help me prove my theory? Also, If such docuent exist... how would I find the parents of John W. Collins. I believe he is the brother of Enoch Collins Sr.
