Thanks, Pam for responding to my message, so glad to find new cousins.
Has anyone found the birthplace of Jacob Giddens?
Did he have a middle name?
Who were his parents? Has anyone found their graves?
Jacob fought in the War of 1812, did his father fight in the Rev. War.?What tales have been passed down in your branch?
Questions about Jacob's wife:Eliza Waters
According to my grandmother (Frances "Fannie" Etta Moore-daughter of Eliza Giddens Moore) who lived to be 93yrs. and was sharp as a tack... she told my sister in 1955 that Jacob was married to Eliza Baldwin. Then all of a sudden when we got the Bienville Vol.II book it lists his wife as Eliza Waters.Others in Louisiana had the name as Baldwin. Has anyone pursued this through a paper/historical trail? Was Eliza Waters the mother of all the children?
Could have Eliza Baldwin died, then he married Waters?
I am aware on computer there is a Jacob Giddens that married a Eliza Baldwin, I don't think the kids names fit our list.Did Jacob marry twice-two groups of kids?
Any clues would be appreciated.
Do you have the book written on Giddens?I emailed the author, and she has not answered my message.
Let me check my records to see what I have or need on your branch of our family. I have been going through the Bienville Vol.II book trying to cross reference all these huge families that moved together from Ala. hoping to find some answers or clues.A cousin on the Moore branch has contacted me, also. You can e-mail me direct if you want.
Thanks again, Jeannine [email protected]
