My great grandfather was Thomas Richard Giddens. His son Oral Ivy Giddens was my grandfather. My father Richard Lee Giddens was born in Eldon,MO. His mother was Sally Giddens. He also has three brothers Almond,Lory,Jerry and two sisters Mary and JoAnn.I've been told that my great grandmother's last name was Longbottom and that she was Cherokee Indian.I have also been told that my ancestors are from Ireland. That they were probably forced by the English to change the original surname. They were potato farmers and moved to America after the English took over.My father's cousin Ilene has done alot of research on our family and said that we even had ancestors fighting on both sides of the civil war.If any of this sounds familiar please let me know.
