I am searching for information on the ancestors of Capt. John GIDDENS who died before 1871 and is buried at Portaupique Beach Cemetery in Portaupique, Colchester, Nova Scotia, Canada. His wife was Mary Jane Cook b. abt 1789 d. 5 Feb. 1880 in Portaupique. She is buried with John. She is listed in the 1871 Colchester Census as living in Lower Londonderry with one of her sons, Daniel. John's parents are listed on GeneJane's Homepage as William Giddens from England and Martha McLellan, daughter of Michael McLellan from Ireland and Esther. All that I have is from GeneJane's Homepage. Any further information on this family, plus the source information, would be appreciated.
