Ed, I notice you listed Mary Elizabeth Giddens. I have Mary Elizabeth Giddens born to Reuben & Nancy Stratton Giddens
(6th child) 1810, married Mar 2t, 1825 to William Martin Preece in Pike Co. Ky. Is this the same. Giddensville N.C. is about
60-80 miles south of Raleigh just off I-40 according to map. Not near Wilkes Co. which is where Reuben & Nancy gave birth to Richard Franklin G in 1798. Reuben is my gggg grandfather. I am excited about finding this website when I was searching for info on Cork, Iraland, which is where I believe Reuben came form. Reuben was born about 1780 and died in Red River Co. Tx 8n 1854. I am having trouble connecting Reuben to another Giddens brother, uncle, father,etc.
One post I read tells of a Reuben Giddens born around 1750. This has confused me.
Maybe you or someone can help. Glad to
exchange info with you and others.
There are some of the Preece desendents around Dallas and Austin, Tx but hard to make contact with them. Reuben and all his family came to Red River Co in 1830's by way of Ky and ILL.
