Just received a copy of a court document, signed by my gg-grandfather, Word Gidden. He
is requesting pension money, due his deceased
mother be paid to him and his siblings. It gives this information on the Gidden family.
Can you help fill in the blanks?
Parents: Richard Gidden b. 20 June 1765, Charlotte County, VA, Revolutionary War soldier 1780-3, lived in SC, GA, TN, MS. Married Elizabeth ? in 1788 in SC. Died 7 Nov 1834 in Monroe County, MS.
Elizabeth ? b. ? d. 29 May 1847, Monroe County, MS.
Children:
Margaret Gidden b. 8 Dec. 1789 SC m.
William Hilliard of Monroe County, MS.
Ann Gidden b. ? m. David M. Vaughan of Calhoun County, MS.
Mary Gidden b. ? d before 2 Feb 1856 m. ?
McKinney.
Martha Gidden b. ? m. Andrew Jones.
Word Gidden b. ca 1805 GA d. March 1880 Lee County, MS.
James Gidden b. 1801 GA d. 1853 Phillips
County, AR (I believe this is the right James
Gidden).
Would love to fill in some of these blanks. Also, I am most interested in the ancestry of Richard Gidden.
