Al, I find your posting very interesting. My ggm was Elnora Alveline Giddens, b June 4, 1859, in Scottsboro, Alabama. Her parents were Ruben Zephenier Giddens and Eliza Jane Woods. I know after my grandmother graduated from school about 1900 or so, she went to Mexico to spend the summer with cousins. I even have some pictures where they were working on the railroad and opals that she picked up off of the ground while there. Maybe we can connect. Let me hear from you.
