I think that the parents of Hannah Gibson Lay Baird Lay are ANDREW Gibson and Mary Duncan. My reasoning is that in the Caswell County Court records, book A, March Court 1779, item 66: "Inventory of personal estate of Andrew Gibson on 29, Sept 1778,....Return by Mary Gibson, adm."
I think that John came in as an error in the record in the Caswell County Deed book, which list Hannah Gibson, heir of John and Mary Gibson. I think this John refers actually to John Cooper, Mary Gibson's husband.
Does anyone agree with me??? or have other ideas???
