Dear Bill, Paul, Anne, and everyone:
These are all pretty old messages, so I am going to post this here, and in addition I will try to contact you directly. This is the family I am trying to learn more about, as it could have some relation to mine.
I've been searching for years (when I could) for a solid clue to the parents of my ancestor, James Gibson 1776-1845. Someone I found recently had my James listed as a son of this Jacob (b. 1740), and that's how this started. It seems likely that my James was at least related to this bunch of Gibsons. It is thought that he was born in York, PA. You can imagine how hard it is to research a James Gibson. My line is James, James, James, Lee, and James!
I hope anyone with more information will contact me. Especially if you know anything about a James Gibson who we think was born 13 Jan 1776 in York, PA, and probably died 1845 in Putnam, IN. Married Sarah Ann Phillips, family lived in KY, then IN. We think (some of?) the siblings of James were Elizabeth, William 1771, Margaret, and Sarah.
Any leads much appreciated!
