This is not intended to confuse you, but I copied down some info from some records turned in to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, UT. Some body has his or her wires crossed. I'll type what they put in the records.
John Gibson b. abt 1704, son of Robert Gibson and Mary at
NorthFarnham, Richmond, VA
m. Elizabeth Call b. abt 1708 at North Farnham, Richmond,
VA. 11 children were listed, including a Thomas b. in
Frederick Co., VA in 1750; a Joseph, b. 25 Feb 1739 in
North Farnham, Richmond, VA; a John Gibson b. 28 Nov
1748 in Frederick Co., VA. Joseph is supposed to have
married Juda or Judith Gibson b. in Bedford, VA. I
think this is James' daughter.
Then we have another John Gibson b. 1715, son of James Gibson,
b. in North Farnham, Richmond, VA, m. in Frederick
Co., VA and died there.
m. to Elizabeth Call. Listing the same John Joseph
and Thomas. The only difference being the father
is James Gibson.
The will of James Gibson of Bedford, co., Va, lists Joseph as a son-in-law, so I'm thinking that Joseph belonged to the Robert Gibson family. But there is a note that Joseph
could be a son of Robert Gibson and Elizabeth Draper. I don't think these records are correct. We need to get back to the official records of VA and NC.
My problem is that a virus attacked my Gibson line and I can't get it back. But my son had a copy and retrieved it from the hard drive of his computer, after it crashed, copied it; and my grand daughter(his niece was supposed to bring it to me but found she didn't have time, and it is not in my computer at this time. I'm sure I have the lineage straightened out, but getting it back into my computer has been a royal pain.
Are you also descended from Ziba Gibson, who married in
Scotland, brought his wife and sons to VA, died; and she moved her boys to NC? I have that in the computer and on paper. Some idiot put him in the records as a woman.Iris
