Stafford and Mary GIBSON, daughter Frances Caroline GIBSON COX
Found on the 1860 Russell County, Alabama census the following:
1860 United States Federal CensusWachoochee, Beat 12, Russell, Alabama 8/9/1860
S Gibson 57M Farmer NC

T C Cox 27FGA(Frances Caroline)
J S Cox 8MALA (James Stafford)
M E A Cox 6FALA (Mary E A )
I am sure that the T C (or FC) Cox is Frances Caroline GIBSON COX, mother of James Stafford COX and Mary E A COX TILLMAN.
I believe the S. Gibson is her father Stafford GIBSON and the E is her mother Elizabeth. The dates differ slightly from:
1850 US CENSUS Russell County, Alabama, 1850 US CENSUS Beat 4, Russell, Alabama 11/1/1850
Household Members: Name Age
Stafford Gibson 41M Farmer NC
Elizabeth Gibson 36FNC
Frances Gibson 18GA
Martha Gibson 16GA
John Gibson 11Ala
James Gibson 7Ala
Thomas Gibson 5Ala
Benjm Gibson 3Ala
William Holland 23GA.
It is believed that Frances Caroline GIBSON Cox is the wife of William Edmond COX.He is not found on the census records with the family, so it is assumed he died before 1860.Their son James Stafford COX was born April 20, 1852 in Alabama and died Feb 12, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Ok. He and his wife Mary Louise Porter (1855 MS-1948 Louisiana) are buried there.
Would like to correspond with anyone researching this family.
