Val
Thank you for your reply. My Daniel Gibson, b. c. 1769-70, died in 1829, so is not listed in the 1860-70 censuses. His Will, written in 1815 and recorded in the Wayne Co., GA. Courthouse shows him having only one son, listed as John Gibson, Jr., my son. He was b. 1805. He was also an executor of his father's estate. However, I find it interesting that he is listed as Jr., when there is a John Gibson, Sr. listed in the census with a given birthdate of 1801. John Jr. was m. twice and had a slew of children (19). By his 1st wife Martha Parrott he had sons Daniel,b. 1838, John b. 1845, & Stephen, b. 1851. By his 2nd wife, Jane Harrison, he had Moses C., b.1859, Thomas, b. 1867, and Doctor Franklin, b. 1870. [Ref. censuses 1840-50-60-70-80] I have not tried to track those descendants, but perhaps someone out there might recognize the names and know a present day male to do the DNA test. If you would like, I will be glad to post all Gibson's listed in Wayne Co., GA Census fr. 1820-1900, and marriages also as shown in the book Miscellany of Wayne County by Margaret Jordan.
Winnie
