Phoebe Ellen Gibson was born Nov 14 1836 in Indiana. Daughter of John and Mary (Allenduff) Gibson. She married Absolom Funk in 1859, and they lived in or near Fountain County, Indiana all of their lives. She died Mar 11, 1917.
Absolom was the son of Michael and Amy Ann (Johnson) Funk. He, likewise, was born and lived in Indiana. They were parents of : Martha, Mary A, Marion, and Ann Funk.
Would love to connect with members of this family, as I have been under the impression that Phoebe might have been named for her fathers mother.
Since John (my brick wall) was raised by grandparents unknown, I have kind of gone by the patronimic naming system to determine who his parents might have been. I believe that his father, was named William, and his mother, Phoebe or Permelia.
If anyone has information on this family, I'd love to compare notes.
