Blue Ridge Mountain Gibsons- Indian raid
Anyone descended from the Gibson line that lived near the Blue Ridge Mountains in the mid 1700's in the area that was Fairfax Co, that later became Loudoun Co, Virginia. Some of the family were: Alice Gibson, E. Gibson, Isaac Gibson, James Gibson, Joseph Gibson, and Moses Gibson. They lived near the site of an Indian raid that occured around 1743. If you are descended from one of these individuals, family history suggests that Indians massacred a Houguenot Pioneer settlement at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The legend has been in the Boucher family history for over 250 Years. Note George Gibson married Sarah Butcher, the d/o Daniel Butcher. They had a son Joseph Gibson.
