Orimill Gibbs m. Hannah Vanhoosen, Montreal 1811

The Drouin Collection of Quebec church records, available on Ancestry.com, includes the marriage record of these two. It reads as follows: "Orimill Gibbs of Taillebout [probably the seignury of d'Aillebout or d'Ailleboust] farmer aged twenty three years & Hannah Van hoosen of Terrebonne [a northern suburb of Montreal] Spinster aged seventeen years were joined in marriage by publication of Banns at Montreal this twenty third day of March one thousand eight hundred & eleven in presence of these witnesses - By JSomerville Minr [signed] Orrimill Gibbs [Hannah made her mark] [signed] John Van hussen horris Gibbs"

Orimill and Hannah were my ggggrandparents. Orimill and Horris Gibbs were sons of Joshua and Anna Gibbs, as David Gibbs has noted in an earlier posting in this forum. The implied birth year for Orrimil is slightly at variance with the family's Bible record.
