I'm new to this, but looking for information on Elizabeth Gwenllian Jane Gibbon. She was my Grandmother and was born in the Glamorgan area in 1890. She married my Grandfather Arthur Glyn Prys-Jones, and had two children, David (who became a doctor)and Barbara, my mother. I know that her mother died soon after giving birth to Elizabeth, but I know nothing else about my great grandmother. I also know that her father (Mr Gibbon!)left Elizabeth in the care of her grandparents for a while. I think that during this time he went to Philadelphia and bought a piece of land. (Allegedly near to the site of what is nowadays the main post office, but not sure about that!) He then returned to Wales and remarried and had two more daughters I think. (I have no information about any of that side of the family either.) I think that her father then went on to found a chain of largish shops in the South Wales area. That's all I know, but it would be great if someone out there knew anything!
