I need to find my Gibbens book to be sure of the date but I think it was around 1930 - 1933. I can't remember if he was 46 or 49 when he died. I think he was 49. He was born in 1884 in Smith Co, KS to Andrew Jackson GIBBENS and Martha Jane HENDRICKS. Andrew and Martha were married in 1884 in DeKalb Co, IN and then moved to Smith Co, KS.
Vern GIBBENS married Ida Grace BOBBITT. They moved all over NE with a short period of him being an Indian agent at the Rosebud Reservation in SD. My mother was born while they were there (1916 in Herrick, SD) The rest were born in NE.
Are you related to Vern? His full name was Vern Vernon GIBBENS. Some of mom's papers had his name spelled Verne.
