JOHN b. 1837/38 in Markinch, died 11 Apr 1911 in Maryhill Dist., Lanarkshire
married MARY GOVAN 12 Jul 1861
don't know if they had any children - cannot find them 1871-1981 census. In 1901 Census, both John & Mary were living in household of Mary's sister, Margaret (Govan) Somerville in Maryhill Dist, Glasgow.
PETER GIBB b. 1838/39 in Markinch, Fife; d. 6 Oct 1907 in Campsie Parish, Stirlinshire (My ancestor)
married Elizabeth White Halden 29 June 1870 in Queenstown, County Cork, Ireland (Peter was Colour Sgt. 72nd Seaforth Highlanders and was stationed at Spike Island before being posted to India... 3 children at least born in India (East India Records), only one survived to 1881 census when the family had returned to Scotland.

AGNES GIBB b. 1852, d. 19 Aug 1933 Portobello Dist, Edinburgh, Midlothian
m. Daniel Ross 25 Jan 1878
JAMES GIBB b. 1853/54 in Markinch or Govan Parish, Lanark died 3 Aug 1904 in Parish of Cockpen, County of Edinburgh
married to Elizabeth Maitland Thomson, 25 Feb 1876
There was also a stillborn child April 1841 who was born and buried April 15h, and youngest child, Margaret Holywell Gibb, bor March 1855 in Lanarkshire and died 3 months later (in June 1855, which is also when her mother died of Typhoid)
Thomas married a second time in Sep 1856 to Jane Morrison and they had one child, Thomas Gibb b. Sep 1857 in Govan Parish, Lanarkshire (see separate posting on this board)
