Hi Margaret,
I have written to my cousins in Italy and asked them to read our conversations here.
It will be interesting to see what they can add to it.
Our families have traveled a very similiar road. My family has a branch in the Stockton area of Cal. which is very near Fresno.
I have wondered for years now why my/our Italian ancestors went to Idaho of all places. I know my g-grandfather Giuseppe worked as a miner for a bit. He and Rosina also ran a boarding house in Pocatello. I think she ran it while he was away working in the mines. He eventually retired as a Southern Pacific railroad worker in Oakland, Ca.
Do you have any idea on why they settled in that region of the US?
