Refrence to Ghent's
I have found this much so far.
My understanding is that Spencer Ghant was suppose to be a Hancock and his mother's was suppose to marry a Hancock-
He was part Cherokee Indian and was a tailor by trade.
He married a Mary Elizabeth Belk
They lived in Berkeley County at one time that is where there two sons joined the confederate army at Camp Pillow which is located at John's Island in South Carolina-
One Son's name is Geroge Washington Gheant (Ghant) which is my great-great-grandpa and He married Patricia McAteer and they had two sons who where twins Mack Randolph and John Darby and a daughte Lottie
Lottie Ghant married Joe Mothershed and the had 1 son Arthur
