Greeting fellow Gettier families. My Gettier's come from PA, MD, to Ohio. I have found many more Gettier's in the Montgomery county, Dayton area since my first search for my own family. It was so many spelling in the index that made me miss them . I was given from my mother a few weeks ago a old letter it was dated Jan. 20, 1953 from a Carlton B. Brodbeck, it came from Silver Spring, Maryland. He said in the letter that his great-grandmother Eliza Ann Gettier Weaver who was born 23 Nov 1811. She had a brother Henry who went to Dayton, Ohio. I just recently found him, along with many Gettier marriages from the Archives in Dayton.
My own family comes from Joshua Gettier who married Louisa .
Also found Peter J Gettier buried at the National VA Cemetery in Dayton, he died in 1896, he was in the Infantry of the Civil War, working on getting his papers and more info on him.
I did also find Amanda Gettier MaGee in 1850 living with her brother Joshua , she had married in Middletown, Ohio.
I have more info, just jotting a bit of it here for you.
Just wanted to touch base with this family group of Gettier's.
