I checked The Giraud-Gerow Family in America and found a John Gerow who sounds like the John Gerow, father of Solomon. John's wife was Anna Birdsall. She would not have been as old as 79 at the time of her death in 1822. Do you think you have the correct info there? I don't have the date of John's birth, but one brother was born in 1793, another in 1806. The genealogy says that John Gerow died in Oneida County, and I found that Marcy, NY, is in Oneida County.
The parents of John Gerow were Solomon Gerow and Amelia Eager. Solomon was the son of Andre Giraud and Ann Wicks from the Town of Yorktown in Westchester County, NY. John also had brothers Solomon, Oliver, Daniel, and William. His brother Solomon resided in Westchester County, NY.
Have you checked the Federal Census for 1820 or 1830 to see if John Gerow is listed in it for Oneida County?
