The Solomon Gerow age 33 listed in the 1850 Marcy NY Census is my GGGgranddather. along with His wife Caroline age 28 The Census shows he had sons (James E my GGfather),David,and William D., a daughter Mary J. All of which I know to be true.
James E Was B:1841 D:1922 age 81,he married Mary VanValkenburg B:1842 D:1924 and both are buried in Canastota NY..
Solomon Died in 1857 at age 40 and is buried in Rome Ny along with his son David D:1859 at age 18. Also buried in Rome are a John J. Gerow(Giraud) D:??? and his wife Anna who died in 1822 at age 79. I wonder if John might be Solomons father????
My family records to indicate that Solomons father was also a Solomon but nothing is verified The records also show he married a Mary Gates from Marcy NY and there is a Mary Gates buried in the same Rome cemetery D: 1865 at age 73 Maybe it Fits ?. I guess I need to make a trip to Rome and see if I can find proof of Solomons parents.
