Hans Brockman immigrated from Prasdorf, Probstei, Ploen, Schleswig-Holstein in 1849. He settled Davenport, Iowa where he married Katherine Strohbehn (sp?) in 1852. Katherine is a mystery. I believe she may be related to the Strohbehn family from Dransau, Neuhaus, Schleswig-Holstein. Both villages appear to be near Kiel. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I could search records of Dransau for more clues? Or, even better, does anyone know of the Strohbehn family?
