Looking for information on great-grandparents both from Holstein. His name Ernst Kuppleman was listed on the 1880 census for Chicago, IL. Notice the spelling of Kappelmann.
I found it in varied records for the family spelled various different ways. My grandmother Mary, Ernst's daughter, spelled it Kappelmann. And again on a later census she spelled it Kopplemann. Another place shows it as Koppelman and yet Kappleman. I'm not really sure which is correct. Ernst's wife's name is Magdelina. I don't know if they married in Holstein or when they were in the United States. Probably in Chicago. No maiden name for Magdelina. The family lived in the Chicago area all the time they were in the US. I expect they married around 1873 or so. Anyone hear of the family? Or are you related? Need help to finish this part of the family tree.
Mary Kappelmann married Gustave Luth 1896 in Chicago?
Their son Raymond is my father.
