I'm searching for any info regarding my mother's WIEDE family. The earliest information we have is for GOTTLIEB WIEDE. A grandson of his identified his (the grandson's) birthplace as C(G?)artsehity, Sachsen, Altenburg, so we're assuming the entire family might be found in that locality, which I cannot find on any map of Sachsen, Germany.
Gottlieb Wiede is the earliest.
His son was FREDERICK WIEDE, b-Sachsen, Altenburg; marr. Christina_____. They had four children:
1. Frederick Alexander Anton Wiede; b- 1830 @ Sachsen; died 1888 @ SanLorenzo, Alameda County, California. Married Bertha_____.
2. Charles Julius Louis Wiede; b- 1832 @ Sachsen, Altenburg; died 1918 @ Buffalo, Erie Co, NY; marr Margaretha Gress, b- NY state; died Williamsville, Erie Co, NY.
3. Emil Wiede; died at an infant in Germany
4. Herman Wiede, died as an infant in Germany.
No.2, Charles was my great-grandfather. We would greatly appreciate any information relating to this family in Germany including any possible Church records, altho we don't know where or what church the family belong to.
