Karen, this has actually become even more complicated now, the first reason being that you've now brought another German state into it, namely, the state of HANOVER (capital: city of Hanover).
The second reason is that you've brought a DIFFERENT SAXONY into it as well!
Up to this point, you've said that Christina Patzer was simply from SAXONY.If she was from Saxony, that means that she was from the German state of Saxony, the capital of which is the city of Dresden and the largest city in which is Leipzig. But now in this posting, you say that she was from Saxony PROVINCE!Well, if Saxony Province is where she was from, then she wasn't from the state of Saxony at all, but rather, she was from the Prussian Province of Saxony, the capital of which was the city of Magdeburg! We're talking here about a province of the German state of PRUSSIA (in German: Preussen; capital: Berlin).Saxony and the Province of Saxony are two separate entities!I have the strong feeling that you weren't aware of that.
All of this leads now to another important question:You say that family lore has it that Christina was from "Hanover Kingdom, Saxony Province, Alsace-Lorraine, Germany", which is impossible because we're talking here about three distinct and separate entities. But on what exactly are you basing your belief that of these three entities, Saxony is the correct one to begin with? Why not the state of Hanover? Why not Alsace-Lorraine?In other words, what is it that makes you think that Hanover is wrong, that Alsace-Lorraine is wrong, and that Saxony is correct?(Although as I just explained, Saxony actually isn't mentioned here, but rather, the Prussian Province of Saxony is what is actually mentioned here.)
Do you know what Christina's brother's name was?Do you know exactly where in Wisconsin he lived?
