Betty, I'm rather confused right now: In your previous posting, you indicated that both parents died in the city of Kirchheimbolanden in the Palatinate. But here you say that they died in Pfeddersheim in Rhenish Hesse (in German: Rheinhessen). Well, Betty, which is it? Kirchheimbolanden in the Palatinate? Or Pfeddersheim in Rhenish Hesse? (And if they died in Pfeddersheim, by the way, they actually died in the city of Worms, because Worms annexed Pfeddersheim 40 years ago, in 1969. Pfeddersheim is thus now a section of Worms.) And just how does the Charlottenburg District of Berlin, about 350 miles or 600 km to the northeast, fit into all this? If anybody here is to be able to assist you properly, Betty, you are going to have to be clearer about things. And one word of advice: The United States is the only country where dates, when written in figures, are written in month-day-year order. Everywhere else, dates written in figures are written in day-month-year order. So on message boards such as this, you should always write the name of the month as a WORD. Let's say, Betty, that a German should see this posting of yours. Well, the German will read Frieda's date of death as 4 May 2005, whereas I assume that she died on April 5, 2005. Am I right? A German would read the husband's date of birth as 1 October 1913, whereas I assume that he was born on January 10, 1913. Am I right? A German would read his date of death as 7 April 2005, whereas I assume that he died on July 4, 2005. Am I right? In any event, Betty, never write dates all in figures on message boards such as this. Always write the names of months in WORDS. Robert Notify Administrator about this message?
