Sue, glad it worked out! I've replied to both your queries concerning reading the birth record. I have sent you an e-mail directly, which I assume you've received by now, and you can feel free to e-mail me the birth record. As I said in my e-mail, the birth record from 1885 is probably written in the pre-1941 German script, which I know not only how to read, but also how to write. Many younger Germans even can do neither!
