CJ, I do have one suggestion for you. I would suggest that you contact the Registry Office (in German: Standesamt) in Andernach and request a copy of Leroy and Elschen's 1921 marriage record. Then you can be sure of all the information being accurate. Here is the e-mail address:

Be sure to make the subject line of your e-mail "Heiratsurkunde", which is German for "Marriage Record", to be sure that your e-mail gets directed to the proper person. You can write the body of the e-mail in English.

As you may know, a portion of what was at that time the Prussian Rhineland was under American occupation from 1918 to 1923. In 1923, the occupation was transferred to the French. The occupation of the Rhineland ended in 1930.

As to the city of Koblenz: An older spelling was Coblenz, with a "C".

One question: What was Elschen's religious denomination?
