Yes, this means occupation of the father, but means sometimes more. Something like "life ratio" or "life situation".
And shoemaker sounds right.

I can not read Latin, only a few needful words. So I'm sorry to say that I'm not a help for you.
Than you need someone who can read Latin handwriting.
If the couple were from different confession, the pastor maybe write something about that at the end of the line.
Sometimes they wrote where the christning of the persons were.
Especially if one or both are not baptized in the pastors church. But some pastors were pretty lazy. And others very detailed.
