The only record I could see on New Family Search suggests that KOWALD records may be in Brandenburg Church Registers.

I have ancestors from Sawade/Zawada and their records name the place of events as "Brandenburg, Potsdam, Germany".
I think that means Brandenburg records may be in Potsdam Archives.
