I am doing research on the Laubenthal Family. I am currently interested in Nicholas Laubenthal.
Here's what I know about him:
1) He was born September 01, 1829 in Prussia
2) He married Anna Catherine Welreth (Wetreth/Wetrelh)around 1855ish
3) He came to America in 1856. Had a child in New York. Came to Grand Rapids, Michigan a year later. Had 10 more kids, 6 of them surviving by the time of his death.
4) He was a brewer
5) He died March 20, 1902 in Grand Rapids, Michigan of Pneumonia
6) His parents were both born in Germany. His mother's name is Margaret Waldeck. On his death certificate, his father's name is hard to make out. However, it could be one of three possibilities: Job, Joe, or Jos. (To view the death certificate, visit: http://seekingmichigan.org search Laubenthal )
I am wondering if anyone can tell me where to go from here. How do I find out information about Nicholas's family? He is my 4th great grandfather.
