I've found my ancestor JOhn Grether in St. Charles MO on the 1850 census stating he is from Prussen or Proden was listed on another census. I believe his father's name was Michael and died in St. Charles Co. sometime in the 1840's. Any ideas on who I could go about tracing which part of Prussia they were from.
