I am not positive that this is the same Hafendorfer family, but a Hafendorfer family lived in the Evansville, Indiana area in the 1850's. My great great grandfather's sister, Katharine Johanna Buechele married Conrad Friedrich Hafendoerfer, 16 Sep. 1860, at Salem Church in Darmstadt, Indiana. I always assumed they moved to Louisville. The Buecheles, Mayers and Hafendoerfers were all from Boennigheim, Wuerttemberg. There area couple of records indicating a connection with Louisville, including the death of Christiana Margarethe Mayer Buechele, who died 12 Apr. 1879 in Louisville, and is buried in the St. Pauls German Township Cemetery(near Evansville).
