Looking for Mozelle surnames in early 1800's NY.

John Hopkins born in early 1800's in New York State married a German woman and had a son born 1838 in Springville, Erie Co., NY named William Henry Hopkins. His daughter Harriet "Hattie" Louise Hopkins 1868-1955 married 1886 Jay Haddox and had a daughter named Nada Mozelle Haddox. They lived in Webster City, Hamilton Co., Iowa.

Mozelle is a region in Germany and this is the only clue we have that might be the maiden name of John Hopkins' wife.

Any help greatly appreciated!
Lee
