Hmm .. that sounds difficult, but not impossible.
First - here is a link to more information about the area which is to search:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_W%C3%BCrttemberghttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_W%C3%BCrttemberg
Next important thing:
Which konfession are the Aler-family? Catholic?
I note (after a look to USA-Census of Ohio and all Aler-people born in Germany):
There are a lot of people, born in Germany (Wuerttemberg) with the name ALER and all travel to the same place.
So it looks like they all came from the same family from the same aera. It would be so helpful to find the birthplace of ONE of them .. or maybe the marriageplace.
You can do following, if you didn't it yet:
Search for the original USA-marriagecertificates of people of your ALERfamily which are born in Germany. I mean the church-certificates. Sometimes pastors noted were they had their christning. It must not be your direct line, it also can be some relatives. But ALER and born in Germany is expensive.
If you got no luck, because there is no more information or they all married in Germany before immigrate, than search for the church-birthcertificates of the children named Aler and with parents from Germany, for the same reason.
You need a little hint of the village/town in Wuerttemberg.
Whats about this passport?
Do you have a foto of it you can show me?
Is it written clear that the place is "Weiler"?
Is there something written before or after the word?
I searched at Familysearch where the name Aler was found in Wuerttemberg and I found two towns with a lot of Alers.
First is Biberach.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biberach_an_der_Risshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biberach_an_der_Riss
Familysearch has a lot of churchbooks of these area:
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=localityhitlist&columns=*%2C0%2C0&PLACE=biberach&PARTOF=&prePLACE=biberach&prePARTOF=http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=localityhitlist&columns=*%2C0%2C0&PLACE=biberach&PARTOF=&prePLACE=biberach&prePARTOF=
Search each church for marriage Aler 1852, birth C.F. Aler 4. Oct. 1829, birth Caroline Aler 4. May 1853.
The next town is Ulm.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulmhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulm
churchbooks:
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=localityhitlist&columns=*%2C0%2C0&PLACE=ulm&PARTOF=&prePLACE=ulm&prePARTOF=http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=localityhitlist&columns=*%2C0%2C0&PLACE=ulm&PARTOF=&prePLACE=ulm&prePARTOF=
You only have to notice the one with "Württemberg".
Search for the dates above.
If this all don't help ... it would be very unpleasant, because than you have to search in Wuerttemberg churchbook for churchbook.
Or you give it up ..
Wish you a lot of luck
Susanne
