Yes, that is my family, the first link.
They did not have an additional son who died however they have a son, Frank Mendro, who was born on 16 Nov 1875.The exact date on that birth record in FamilySearch.Census records from 1870 and 1880 do not show any other John Mendro married to an Augusta.I have already suspected that this was the John Mendro and Augusta from my family.Augusta died in 1888 and their youngest daughter, Augusta, ended up living with an older sister, Barbara Hubert. This is verified by living family. It's impossible to say whether or not Augusta Stubenrauch is the right person but I strongly believe it is and the birth records was just recorded or transcribed to the database incorrectly.
The old man, Joseph Weber, living with them in 1880 and at other times matches the name on John P Mendro's naturalization papers from 1863.
Mendro is also spelled Mendrough and Mendrow on various documents.
I do not know if they were married in the US or not.The first record I have of John Mendro is the naturalization record from 1863 but they had already had a child by then so they were married at that time.I do not know when either of them actually came to the US.
How do I go about getting the birth certificates?especially the one listing in FamilySearch, John Mendro 16 Nov 1875 who I suspect is really Frank Mendro.
Thanks for your research and input
