Thank you for the information you were able to provide concerning the Clobus name.I do have a copy of the passenger record, but I had not noticed that Christina had been in the US for ten years. That is very helpful information. That may help me find the answer to another question I had.Under 'going to join a relative or friend' they name an aunt Christine Weimar (can't quite make out the spelling of the last name) from Sheridan, PA near Pittsburgh. My guess is that this aunt is from Christina's side and not the Clobus side.Possibly this aunt is who she lived with for those 10 years.
I had just found the naturalization record on footnotes.com, but need to join to view it fully. Thank you for providing me with the wording on the document.
I also have a copy of the baptism record for the children. The names that you've listed from the naturalization record are their first names but we knew them by what are, according to the baptism record, their middle names.Maybe I’ll have more luck with my research if I use their first names.
As far as their religion, my grandparents attended, and their funerals were held at, a Presbyterian church.Though as far as Heinrich and Christina, my great grandparents, I don't know.I am going to look at the baptism record further to see if there is any indication of the religion or a church name.I need to learn to read German!
As you can probably tell I am very new at this research, and I appreciate any and all help and information.Thank you again Eileen.
